[git-buildpackage] gbp clone not creating upstream, pristine-tar branches

Hello,

maybe it is an understatement on my part, but I cannot get "gbp clone"
to work as (I think) it is advertised: after issuing

gbp clone --pristine-tar -v github:...

the cloned repository only has one "master" branch, with no trace of an
"upstream" one.  In fact, I cannot find significant differences between
that clone and a regular "git clone".
