I've looked at the feature/buildpackage-rpm queue first (as you
suggested) and commented on most of the things. I have to have a closer
look at the tempfile changes before proceeding (but feel free to rebase
on master if you see fit).

I wonder if some of the things needing work are really needed to get the intial
version merged?
